"1610 yılında yazılmış, MS Add.3056 katalog numarasıyla Cambridge Üniversitesi kütüphanesinde bulunan ve 19. yüzyıldaki sahibinin ismine atıfla (Frederick W. Cosens) “Cosens Lavta Kitabı”  ismiyle anılan el yazmasında Rönesans lavtası için yazılmış 71 eser bulunmaktadır. Bazı eserlerin bestecileri bilinmiyor. Kitapta yer alan ve daha evvel hiç seslendirilmemiş olan 14 adet prelüd de sahibi bilinmeyen eserlerdendir (Lavta müziğinin Pele’si olarak görülen John H. Robinson, eserlerin İtalyan besteci Lorenzo Tracetti’ye ait olduğunu tahmin ediyor)."

‘’The Cosens Lute Book’’, written in 1610, contains 71 pieces composed for the Renaissance lute. The manuscript was named after its late owner in the 19th century, Frederick W. Cosens and currently is in the library of Cambridge University with the catalog number of MS Add.3056. The composers of some works in the manuscript are unknown. Similarly, the composer(s) of 14 preludes in the manuscript, which have never been performed previously, remain unknown. (Although John H. Robinson speculated that the preludes were composed by the Italian composer, Lorenzo Tracetti)
